Biography

Dr. Safley is co-medical director of the Imaging Core Lab. He grew up in Independence, Missouri.  After graduating from the University of Missouri-Columbia, he attended Medical School at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA.  Internal Medicine Residency was completed at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, and General and Interventional Cardiovascular Fellowships were completed at the Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute/University of Missouri – Kansas City program. He joined Saint Luke's Cardiovascular Consultants in 2006.

During training, Dr. Safley developed an interest in coronary and peripheral vascular disease research that he has continued in practice. He is a clinical scholar at Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine.
