KSHB: Leawood Man Survives Heart Attack Thanks to Fast Actions of Others

Leawood resident John Longan is alive today thanks to the quick actions of others after suffering a major heart attack while working out at the Carriage Club in November.

Jenni Legg, a nurse clinician at Saint Luke's Marion Bloch Neuroscience Institute who happened to be at the gym that morning, jumped in to perform CPR with others until paramedics arrived.

KSHB talked to Legg and Dr. Adnan Chhatriwalla, interventional cardiologist at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute, about why timing is key in treating a heart attack like John's.
