Julie Quirin, FACHE, Named President of Saint Luke’s Health System

KANSAS CITY, MO – Julie Quirin, FACHE, has been named President of Saint Luke’s Health System, effective Nov. 1, 2023. Melinda L. Estes, MD, who has served as Saint Luke’s Health System President & Chief Executive Officer since 2011, will continue to serve as CEO, until her retirement at the end of this year.

Quirin brings more than 25 years of Saint Luke’s leadership experience to her new position, most recently serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Senior Vice President for Saint Luke’s Health System, overseeing all hospital operations, clinical service lines, nursing administration, system hospital throughput, and regulatory readiness function. Prior to serving as COO, Quirin served in a variety of Health System leadership roles, including senior vice president of hospital operations, CEO of Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City, senior vice president of continuum of care services, and president and CEO of Saint Luke’s South Hospital.

In her role as President, Julie will have expanded responsibilities that include oversight of Saint Luke’s physician enterprise, quality function, digital/IT organization, and government affairs team.

Quirin has been a diplomate with the American College of Healthcare Executives since 2005. She is past chair and a current board member of the Missouri Hospital Association and is past chair of the United Way of Greater Kansas City. Quirin also serves on the American Hospital Association’s Regional Policy Board.

Quirin earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and corporate communication from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa, and a master’s degree in organizational communication from the University of Kansas.
