The experienced surgical team at Allen County Regional Hospital provides high-quality surgical care to meet your needs.
We offer a variety of surgical options and will work with you to make informed decisions about your specific medical situation. Our experts deliver compassionate, personalized care to help you get back on your feet faster.
In addition to traditional open surgery, we perform laparoscopic surgery for a range of conditions. During a minimally invasive procedure, the surgeon makes one or more small incisions—usually about a half-inch long. The surgeon then inserts a tube through which the doctor can place cameras and specially designed instruments to perform the surgery.
Compared to traditional open surgery, patients who undergo minimally invasive surgery often experience:
- Less pain
- Reduced blood loss
- Faster recovery
- Gallbladder disease
- GI diseases—acid reflux, ulcers, and bowel disorders
- Hernia repair
- Venous access (port placement)
- Excisions of benign and malignant lesions
- Thyroid biopsy and partial removal
- Skin and soft tissue mass biopsy
- Wound care management—debridement and grafts
- Endoscopy procedures, including colonoscopies and EGDs
- Colon surgeries
