Hospitalist, Chillicothe, MO

Hedrick Medical Center (HMC), a 25-bed community hospital located in Chillicothe, Missouri, is recruiting for a Hospitalist to join the existing hospitalist team. The ideal candidate is a BC/BE IM/PEDS or Family Medicine physician with excellent inpatient skills. We currently have an IM/PED’s Hospitalist, APN, and telemedicine support through the Saint Luke’s Health System Hospitalist group located in Kansas City. HMC offers a full array of specialist support with a built-in transfer program directly to Saint Luke’s Hospital, a 478-bed tertiary care hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Program Highlights

  • Schedule – 7 on 7 off model with 12-hour shifts, covering adult patients, 24-hours coverage for pediatrics
  • Call Coverage/Back up – On-call eHospitalist for adult admissions after hours. Hospitalist covers pediatric emergencies 24 hours/day during week
  • Technology – Laptop/Desktop with as needed telemedicine technology provided by hospital. Ultrasound equipment for bedside procedures available in hospital. EMR available from home. Billing/sign out able to be done by computer or mobile app
  • Hospital highlights – Recently opened in 2014, Hedrick Medical Center is an award winning Critical Access Hospital with region-leading array of inpatient and outpatient services. Hedrick offers ICU and PCU level care with eICU monitored beds, surgical and obstetrical care, and a 24/7 emergency department with physicians on-site. Our outpatient specialty clinic provides a breadth of specialty services as well as infusion and sleep lab services. Recently awarded Level III stroke center status for care of acute stroke, HMC continues to be a system leader in providing quality care.
