KMBC: Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute performs its 900th heart transplant

The team at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute performed its 900th heart transplant—a milestone decades in the making.

Leawood resident Stephen White - a successful veterinarian, deacon at this church, husband, father, and new grandfather - was lucky number 900.

KMBC talked to Stephen and Dr. Andrew Kao, medical director of heart transplantation at Saint Luke's Mid America Heart Institute, about the significance of the big milestone.
