CHILLICOTHE, Mo. – Hedrick Medical Center recently recognized its Auxiliary members with an appreciation event hosted by employees and administrators at the hospital on April 1. In 2023, Hedrick Medical Center Auxiliary volunteers contributed more than 4,500 service hours to the hospital’s employees, patients, and families.

A luncheon was held to celebrate the service and accomplishments of the volunteers this past year. Volunteers were honored for their service hours at the hospital, and milestones were recognized with pins. Linda Gann was honored as the 2023 Auxilian of the Year for consistent outstanding performance. Each volunteer received Gerber daisies.

The Auxiliary has more than 60 active and lifetime members. Active members provide numerous services to the hospital including operating the Gift Box, the hospital’s gift shop. Other areas where Auxiliary volunteers provide service include the Ambassador Desk and the Physical Therapy department.

As an active proponent of health care careers, the Hedrick Medical Center Auxiliary has awarded $112,500 in scholarships to individuals since 1998. Recipients use the funds toward professions such as nursing, physical therapy, pharmacy, occupational therapy, medicine, and speech therapy.
