KSHB: COVID-19 patient gets surprise sendoff after 10 months in the hospital

Phil, a COVID-19 survivor is going home after nearly ten months in hospitals. He was surprised with a special send-off as he was discharged from Saint Luke's Rehabilitation Institute by his care team for the past 58 days.

He first contracted COVID-19 in December 2020 and was admitted to Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City on January 1.

KSHB spoke to Phil, his wife, Laurie, and a Saint Luke's Physical Therapist that worked with Phil while he was at the Rehabilitation Institute about his recovery and journey ahead.
