KSHB: An adjacent crisis: Liver diseases on the rise during pandemic

Doctors are sounding the alarm on a concerning crisis happening side-by-side with the pandemic.

Alcoholic liver disease cases started rising dramatically and have continued to climb since last March. The pandemic coupled with an already rising trend of cases before COVID have created an adjacent health crisis.

KSHB talked to Dr. Laura Alba, Director of Hepatology at Saint Luke's, about what doctors are seeing locally with the concerning trend.
