Kansas City Star: Nurse talks about treating patients with ECMO in Saint Luke's COVID ICU

Allyse Dowell, a registered nurse at Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City, briefly explains Extra Corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) that is being used for some patients with COVID-19. 

Extra Corporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) is used for patients with life-threatening heart or lung disease or damage. It provides short-term support of the cardiac or pulmonary system when conventional management fails.
