CBS News Takes Viewers Inside a Saint Luke's ICU as Omicron Takes a Devastating Toll on Kansas City

CBS Evening News visited Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City where COVID-19 hospitalizations have tripled in recent weeks. They went inside Saint Luke's ICU units where COVID patients are being treated. Dr. Andrew Schlachter, pulmonologist and critical care specialist, and Kristin Sollars, ICU nurse, spoke to them about what our critical care teams are seeing in the Kansas City area. 


With its relatively low vaccination rate, Missouri is under a crush of COVID-19 patients as hospitals are filled to capacity. CBS This Morning spoke with an unvaccinated woman who's been hospitalized for weeks and is now urging everyone to get the shot.
